Working With Me

The greatest adventure is discovering who you are and who you are becoming. This requires a change in focus from the loud voices everywhere around you to the quiet voice within you—a space where one prepares to fly.

What issues might bring you to see me?

  • Physical illness and pain

  • Anxiety and Depression

  • A painful relationship

  • Lack of direction/meaning

  • Trauma

  • Self-defeating patterns

  • Comfort eating

  • Fatigue

  • Support during endings and beginnings

  • A Wellness Tune-Up

My Approach

We are all unique, multifaceted people, with complex challenges that require careful and thoughtful attention to determine the root causes of the difficult and often painful ways we experience our life. Unfortunately, our medical system too often offers us a 15-30 minute appointment with a specialist who isn’t trained to see the whole person. A Mind-Body-Spirit approach appreciates the interplay among all aspects of who you are and integrates this holistic perspective into the process of healing. I invite you to invest the time and energy to work with me to determine what is really going on and to address the roots of your issues.

The Process

Exploring and coming to understand experiences from your past, always within the context of how they may be currently holding you back, keeps you on track and moving forward. The work involves a deep internal process of self-discovery and ongoing supportive coaching in order to emerge more fully who you are meant to be.

Getting to Know You

Before we meet, I will ask you to prepare for our first session by writing answers to questions about your biography (what has happened to you) and your story (what it means to you).

During our first meetings you will have the opportunity to share with me important aspects of who you are, physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. This includes your goals and values, your dreams and fears; your strengths and weaknesses; what is working, and what is not; what brings joy, and what brings suffering.

Your Unique Journey

Together we explore what we find, and the next steps emerge. Your journey will be unique to you, based on your needs and goals. Here are other areas of expertise available to you.

Becoming a Client

“Working with Susan Lord over the years has been one of the most important parts of my health and wellness journey. She listens carefully, offering her experience and leaving me feeling hopeful. Struggling with chronic anxiety over the years, I found I could trust Susan's guidance because her holistic approach is grounded in her expertise in western medicine.

She is more than a health professional; she is a healer. I have learned so much about ways I can help myself by making small adjustments to my diet, sleep, and patterns of self-talk. I recommend Susan ten-fold and in fact, I need to have a tune-up session with her soon. To me, she's a lifelong member of my team.” S.
